Never has it been this difficult but even more essential to enable small independent responsible designers & brands , specially when large funded companies are being bought by even bigger companies !

Add greenwashing to this to make matters even more complex.

In considered contrast our pieces are made not to fit in fast moving trends and product drops to just last one season or one occasion !

Each piece brought to its shape & form by goes through the tiniest possible improvisations that will add long lasting values , which is the core our sustainable design approach.

* Small batch made to ensure each piece has taken its due course of time required for quality craftsmanship by experienced weavers.

* Ethically handmade by vetted artisan partners. Eg : artisans paid 1.5 times in the cast of our gorgeous Midnight Navy Handloom Scarf shown here.

* GOTs certified yarns & or third party lab testing enabled.

* OEKO -TEX certification involved in dyeing.

* No petrochemical based stuff like polyester etc used.

* Certified recyclable materials used for packaging.

I’ve brought my AAPI identity to the forefront by choosing not to separate it from my design voice. As someone born and raised in India, that visual and cultural language comes through organically in our textiles and craftsmanship—even when it meant not fitting the trends. My work is deeply rooted in heritage-based artisan techniques from India and Nepal, and I’ve kept that influence visible. Design can be both globally relevant and unapologetically rooted—and the work itself can confidently carry that narrative.

Probably what most founders are ( also )at the shorter end of is time. Especially if you are also a mother functioning without a village of your own, the reality of staying on task like a well oiled machine between you & your spouse is a whole different scenario 🤝 So honored to be featured in sharing the balance I had to learn the hard way at .

Events build connections—but don’t let them steal time from your business. Networking is valuable, but prep-heavy events can derail focus and productivity in ways that sneak up on you. I’d be far more selective earlier about where I invest my energy and make sure each commitment is truly moving the business forward, not just keeping me busy.
