Why does my baby suddenly start moving like crazy when I lay down?! 😂🤰👶

You’re exhausted, you finally get comfortable… and suddenly your baby decides it’s PARTY TIME. 😂

There are a few reasons this can happen:

✨ You’re finally still. During the day, your movement can gently rock baby, which may lull them. When you stop moving, you may simply notice their movements more.

✨ You’re paying attention. When you’re busy, you may not notice every kick and roll. At bedtime, there are fewer distractions.

✨ Your position changes. Lying down can change how you feel baby’s movements and make those kicks and rolls much easier to notice.

✨ Baby has their own activity patterns. Babies can have periods when they’re more active, and many moms notice increased movement in the evening.

So yes… sometimes the second Mom gets comfortable, baby clocks in for the night shift. 😂💕

We need to talk about RSV BEFORE we’re around a newborn. 👶🏻🤍

Because sometimes protecting a baby starts with educating the people around them.

RSV might feel like “just a cold” to an adult.

But to a newborn, it can become much more serious.

That’s why it’s so important for grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, friends — everyone who wants to love on that baby — to understand:

🧼 Wash your hands before holding baby.
🤧 Don’t visit if you’re sick or starting to feel sick.
💋 Avoid kissing baby’s face.
😷 Take extra precautions when respiratory viruses are circulating.
❤️ And understand that a parent asking you to wait, wash up, or keep your distance isn’t being dramatic.

They’re giving you the information you need to help protect their baby.

The more people who understand RSV, the more people who can help keep newborns safe.

🚨 Baby not cooperating for pictures?
Try these things BEFORE your ultrasound.
Your baby doesn’t always get the memo that it’s picture day 😂

Baby’s position, movement, placenta location, fluid levels, and gestational age can all affect what we’re able to see.

But there are a few things you can do beforehand to increase the chances of getting those adorable face shots:

💧 Stay well hydrated leading up to your appointment.
🍽️ Have your normal meal/snack beforehand — don’t show up starving.

🚶‍♀️ Give yourself some time to move around before your appointment. Sometimes a little movement is all baby needs to change position.
👶 Know that baby may still have their own plans! 😂 We can try different techniques and positions, but we can’t control exactly how baby is positioned.

And if baby is hiding their face? Don’t panic. Sometimes the best pictures happen after baby decides to cooperate. 💕
