Have a very sweet client who, sadly, has MS and is in a wheelchair. She purchased a very expensive Geiger coat from Austria and the moths got hold of it and some of the seams and sleeve hems were coming apart. Relative easy repairs with the exception of the moth holes! The coat had been dry-cleaned at some point but, when I got it, it was not in the best of shape so, before I even attempted to fix things, I vacuumed off all the dog hair from her service dog and then soaked the coat in Eucalan soap https://eucalan.com/ in the utility sink until the water ran clear. Then popped it in the washing machine on the spin cycle to remove the excess water which really cut down on the drying time. Blocked it back to shape and it was still a bit damp the following morning and hung it up to finish air drying. I'm sure a lot of that dirty water is from the dry cleaning solutions (but, who knows)! It actually turned out quite good and smells like lavendar! I was able to find some wool roving on Amazon in a color that's pretty darn close and felted the moth holes. Looks like a stain but it's still wearable and covered up the holes nicely. In the meantime, I was able to get hold of Geiger in Austria. Found out the coat is from their 2022 Collection. They still had the same color wool and made her a brand new coat! Fabulous service! They had the coat made and shipped in a week! She has trouble with the buttons, so we zig-zag the buttonholes closed and add large snaps. She now has two coats and is a happy camper! Happy Monday! We had dinner at Petey's Bungalow Saturday evening and, as always, it was delicious! Petey is still cooking!! So please make sure to go there before he's not!

Had a great conversation with Mike Asikin (the bartender) and he asked if I would post these pics of a Gammill Longarm Quilting Machine and Frame. The owner has passed and the family is looking to sell it for $3,000. Pretty sure you would need to pick up and dismantle. This is a great price! If you wanted to buy one new and got a "starter package" it would run you upwards of $15,000!!!!

So....last week....I bought a new "toy!"....a Tru-Knit circular sock machine....went to a "Crank-In" and cranked my first pair of Bobby Socks! Not perfect - a little too big - still have to kitchener the toes - but I'm loving them!! Learned a ton!! Amazing fun!

Was asked to make cushion covers from old denim jeans. First time doing a recycle project. Made a pattern...decided on a design...cut up the jeans - serging....top stitching...adding velcro closures...lots of work! Finally finished the project yesterday and "phew" -- customer was happy! And I'm happy it's done! I loved the addition of the pockets and label but the customer said "less is more." I think they will last a long time!!

Do you remember those old squeeze frame purses and stuff your mom had from when you were a kid? Well...they're back! Made myself a coin pouch yesterday. Took all of 30 minutes from start to finish and I love it! Free pattern from Maggy55 Patterns made out of cork fabric and a flex-frame!
