Hi! This is Erin!! If you have ordered or inquired about items from Essential Designs by Nauntie you have talked with me. I am the Customer Service / Marketing side of EDBN.
Jacque (Nauntie Jacque) is the creator of all the face covers up until last September. Some of you may know Jacque as a family member, friend or hair client. Her face cover creations started last March when we were sent into shelter in place and her 35+ year career of being a hairdresser was put on hold. Between March and September, she created over 900 face covers!!
However crazy was 2020 from the start, we had no idea how much of a turn it would take on October 27th when Jacque was admitted to the hospital. Without going into too much detail, to say that Jacque has been to hell and back is an understatement. When you hear the words "we lost her pulse..." you become numb and filled with fear. Being the badass that my sister is, she has taken every diagnosis thrown at her and stayed in charge of what is going on, including fighting the diagnosis of stage 3.5-4 uterine and ovarian cancer on November 4th. That was something that took all of us, including the doctors, by surprise.
Jacque has been in the hospital for over 13 weeks. With Covid-19 regulations, visits are allowed, but only myself and another sister are allowed. Thankfully, I was able to be with Jacque on Tuesday when she mustered up every bit of strength to try to stand. After four times, she was almost fully upright!! Something that most of us do not even think about as we do it daily. However, having been in a hospital bed for over 13 weeks takes it toll on the muscles!!
This is a post from Jacque last night. Today she will have her 4th of 6 chemo cycles. Chemo takes approximately four hours (actually longer with all the prep work) and occurs every three weeks. The first cycle was vicious!! Due to that, the second cycle was put on hold. However, Jacque fought hard and got her self back to a "healthy" enough point that her oncologist was not only amazed with her turn around but gave her the green light to proceed with chemo with only a two day delay!!
The pics are from a post Jacque did on her personal page last night. In support of Jacque, please share your pics here wearing your Essential Designs by Nauntie face covers. All prayers and support are GREATLY appreciated!!
