For this year I’m just celebrating being here, even if I’m without my makeup or any underwear smooshing my body into a shape more pleasing to others.
That’s the meaning behind “Unpacked, Untucked, Unbound.” The language used for “gender affirming” garments doesn’t sound body positive. Being trans doesn’t automatically mean you want to change your body, and we shouldn’t use language that encourages the idea that your body is wrong. It’s up to each of us how we feel about or bodies, regardless of how we choose to present.
There’s a lot more coming for Oddly Magical, but today it’s enough that we’re here.
