This week's episode of "The Internet Is a Haunted Place" features this really cool hoodie that I bought many years ago, from a maker named AnnaBot, who was a fellow member of the the t_shirt_surgery comm on Livejournal. It came with 3/4 sleeves and I just decided I wanted full-length ones, so I opted to add panels of complimenting fabric to the elbows.
While sewing the panels onto each sleeve part, I had to determine which direction to make the seam that runs up the inside lie, such that it would match the direction of the original seam where it ended at the armpit and the cuff, and the seam wouldn't end up twisted. I found the right direction and thought, "oh that's convenient; laying it this way makes it easier to feed through my machine." Then I realized: AnnaBot must have thought that too! That must be WHY the original seams lay that way! What a cool little shared moment, to glimpse the thought process of the maker who went before me!
AnnaBot, if you're still out there, I hope you're well and I miss seeing your amazing hoodies on my feed every day! Thanks for being such an inspiration to me!

The hoodie has a black body split by a yellow zipper, with the red Iron Maiden logo written across the chest; a hood with yellow and black striped lining; and sleeves made from a shiny, blue-and-yellow snakeskin print fabric around the shoulders and forearms, with panels of black snakeskin-printed minky fabric at the elbows. The pocket of the hoodie is the same blue snakeskin fabric, trimmed in red to match the logo.]
