Monkey Cage Kids We do not accept consignments on Tuesday. Items brought in for consignment need to be new or gently used, clean, and ready to sell.

We specialize in new and nearly new maternity, clothes, accessories, toys, furniture & more for NB to teen girls & Ladies We accept consignments on Mon 10-4, Wed 10-4,
Thurs 10-4, Fri 10-4, and Saturday 10-2. Items that are soiled, damaged, recalled, or have heavy odors or pet fur will not be accepted. When bring in clothing we accept one organized freshly laundered small laundry basket or similar sized bin or box per day. We accept drop off on weekdays Mon 10-4, Wednesday-Friday 10-4, Sat 10-3. We do not take items in on Tuesdays.

The tag tells you the size.

It cannot tell you whether your child can manage it by themselves.

Today is World Teachers’ Day, and we are celebrating the little victories teachers notice every day. 🍎

A zipper pulled all the way up.

A button finally fastened.

A jacket placed on the right hook.

That proud little sentence:

“I did it myself.”

The next time your child tries something on, give it the I Can Do It Test.

Can they put it on?

Can they fasten it?

Can they sit, reach, bend, and move comfortably?

Can they take it off without help?

This simple test can reveal things the size tag cannot, like a stubborn zipper, a difficult button, or a fit that feels comfortable until your child starts moving.

That is the difference between clothing that fits and clothing that works for their day.

They may not remember every outfit you bought them.

But they may remember the first one they chose for themselves. 💗

Maybe it is a bright color you would not have reached for.

A jacket they refuse to take off.

A shirt that makes them look in the mirror and say, “This looks like me.”

The next time you shop together, try something simple.

Let them choose one piece.

Ask what they love about it. Then help them think of two things at home they could wear with it.

Big costume plans? Bring that imagination to The Monkey Cage. 🎃

Our costumes and jackets are out! Come shop early and enjoy browsing together.

Here’s something useful to keep in mind while choosing a costume: picture what your child will actually be doing in it. Walking around the neighborhood? Sitting at a school celebration? Playing at a party?

Let them move around before deciding. Comfort deserves a spot on the wish list, too.

And when you’re looking at jackets, check the fit over the kind of clothing they’ll wear underneath. Have them reach forward and lift their arms so you can see whether they have room to move comfortably.
