Our story
Hi I’m Bret, mom of 1 and creator of Bitty Bug.
14 months ago my husband and I welcomed our beautiful daughter, our Bitty Bug. She was a dream come true after struggling for 2 years for a baby. In those 2 years I dreamt of all the cute clothes I would get to put my Bitty Bug in one day.
After a year of trying to balance my full time corporate career and being a full time mom I decided it was time for a change. During one of my daughters naps Bitty Bug Childrens boutique was born.
Before Bitty Bug I spent many nap hours, baby attached at the breast, searching blogs, social media, websites looking for high quality, light weight, breathable, stylish and affordable rompers/sleepers for my daughter. While I found some, none checked all my boxes. My husband and I would always talk at night, is she too hot, maybe turn the fan up or AC down, our daughters comfort was top of mind.
Many parents know a baby’s skin is so sensitive, not just to temperature but fabric. That is why I choose bamboo for our brand. Bamboo is naturally hypoallergenic which make is perfect for sensitive baby skin. A big WIN for my family living in Florida is bamboo fabric is also 3 degrees cooler than cotton, perfect for the summertime! No more worrying if she’s too hot.
Once I picked the fabric I got started on designs. I am no artist, my degree is in Baking and Pastry, but with a little imagination and some handy software I started creating designs for product. Hoping one day my daughter would get to wear something her mom created.
Our hope at Bitty Bug is that YOU and YOUR little one love our product! You will be happy knowing your child is cool and comfortable and get a good night sleep.
