Remember how we started this thing because of the Ogden community and our mom, Kim? And how she kept a grounded, wise AF nature? Even when things felt like they were spiraling?
As her daughters - trust when we say she had sass and gossip. But at her core, mom believed in realism, kindness, and lifting up the people and communities who needed it most through action.
We’ve been thinking about her a lot lately. Mom always said “...words and actions are a reflection of what's in our heart.”
And we believe the same.
We’ve been thinking of her own actions. Mom’s impact and care for Ogden. The people she’d be rooting for right now, and the kindness and action she’d expect as one of Ogden’s own moms.
So we wanted to share today - in honor of mom - that we know mom would be cheering for (did you know Alicia spoke at mom’s memorial, honoring Sloan and mom?), and damn mom would’ve been right in step with . She would be wearing their shirts, hats, and sipping on tea while debating every person on the street she could right now.
So if she can’t - we will.
We care about Ogden. Deeply. We care about you all: just like mom did. And, in our own ways, we hope to continue to support and rally around Ogdenites in actionable ways now and always.
We want Ogden to rediscover its kindness, connection, energy, and community again. And we truly believe that will come from the new, fresh, brilliant minds and energy we have on the ballot today.
So if you got your ballots today - or you’re considering voting - know this is a really transformative, critical election for Ogden.
And we are voting for Alicia and Kevin in this election.
We hope you will, too.
