Each year, part of the celebration of the Prix de West Invitational Art Exhibition & Sale is the creation of a special commemorative bolo.
This year, veteran Prix de West artist Tony Angell crafted the bolo, choosing the loon, a common bird in the Northwest.
The loon’s “elegant form,” he said, provided Angell the desire to use it as his subject.
Quite rare when compared to other water birds, Angell said the common loon is “distinguished by its stunning white ring of feathers that wrap about its lower neck and stand out against its dark, velvety plumage.”
The bolo is available exclusively at Persimmon Hill, the Cowboy’s store, at the link below.
Prix de West is presented by Eskridge Lexus.
