Lone Cedar

Lone Cedar Lone Cedar. This was the first cabin to populate this beach on Lake Okoboji. The orginal cabin was clapboard with a screen porch on both the Lake and road sides.

Lone Cedar was built in 1904 as the summer cottage of the two sisters who built the original Inn of Okoboji just down the bridal path on Dixon Beach. As well, the sleeping porch on the second floor was screened in to catch to cool breezes off the Lake. Today, all of these screens are combination windows -- allowing for a wonderful view and letting the outdoors in when the climate allows.
