Draw That Pig is a small business that specializes in handmade monster pajama eaters (aka worry monsters), fun pillowcases and other cozy items for your littles. I also sell ethnic/Polish wedding accessories (StoLat A Wedding Shop). Draw That Pig opened in the Fall of 2012 when my younger daughter entered Kindergarten. What was once a very part-time endeavor became a passion. I craved learning new

sewing techniques and formulating new ideas. I discovered that other women -- moms, grandmas, moms-to-be, especially -- were falling in love with my creations. They were so pleased that my items were original, practical, beautiful, and handmade. I found a niche, and I was loving my work! My sewing business is part-time, and all items are made by me in my home studio. I am mom to three wonderful children (Lauren, 29; Rhianna, 14; James, 13), and I live in the Scranton, PA area (Old Forge) with my two younger kids. We share our world with a few cats and a handful of chickens. I also work full-time as a personal care aide at our local high school. Draw That Pig is quite an unusual name for a sewing business, isn't it? This name comes from the inspiration I receive daily from my loving parents. When I was in Kindergarten, I had a workbook assignment to "draw a pig." But I panicked and got really upset. I didn't think I could do it. Well, they encouraged me every day up until that assignment was due. And I ended up drawing the best pig ever! Teacher even held it up in front of the class! From that day, they always remind me that I am able do anything I put my mind to. I can, indeed, run a small business, be an amazing mom ... "draw that pig." I am here to encourage you, too. I realize there are times when you could use an emotional boost -- a genuine smile, a kind word, a pleasant surprise. Know that when I create these items, I am thinking about the recipient. I truly enjoy what I do, and I am genuinely hoping that my creations will fill you with happiness as well. There is such good karma in my products that I just know that they will make your day!

❤️🧸Creating memory items is an honor. Someone entrusts me with precious clothing, and memories, and emotions. That is special🥹 - and truly an honor, to be chosen to sew up a memorable keepsake.❤️

Here are some FAQS about my Memory Bears:

One bear requires one adult-sized shirt. However, I can always supplement with additional coordinating fabric if needed. Button downs, polos or tees work great.

$65 - Memory Bear

+$10 - Vest

+ $10 - Bow tie

I'd love to help preserve precious memories for YOU!❤️

So, I made a business decision over the weekend.

I decided to close both of my Etsy shops. I opened "Draw That Pig" on Etsy in 2012, and "StoLat A Wedding Shop" followed a few years later. I started selling on Etsy before they were public, when it was truly a site to buy and sell handmade items. In fact, I had to submit photos and explanations of my process for a juried decision of acceptance back then.

Things are different now. I outgrew craft sewing, and anyway, fabric became much too expensive. My sewing skills improved, and my business acumen sharpened. I shifted to garment alterations in the summer of 2023, and that is now the focus of my sewing business.

I truly enjoy alterations. To me, its like a puzzle - to take clothing apart, and rework it. And then to put it all back together again. I enjoy pants hems as well as formal gown alterations. This is my new niche. I also continue to sew up memory items, like pillows, bears or blankets, and I do love a good custom project occasionally.

I want to thank you ALL for your support of my small business over the years. You have been with me since tea wallets and pillowcases, through Covid masks, bridal aprons and everything in between. I truly appreciate you. I wouldn't be here without you. I hope you'll reach out when your pants are too long, your gown needs re-working, or if a memory bear is in order. I would love to help.❤️

Nothing ignites Imposter Syndrome like working on exquisite gowns for our high school's semi-formal this Saturday.🫣 With a bridesmaid dress thrown in for good measure! Twelve gowns total - completed, bagged, and (just about all) out the door!

Thank you for choosing me for your alterations needs!💕 I hope all the kids have the best time at the dance!❤️
