Emma Erickson

Emma Erickson Beauty is power. Omaha designer, Emma Erickson graduated from the Academy of Art University with a BFA in Fashion Design.

She showed a collaborative textile collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at the Lincoln Center and interned with the Herve Leger by Max Azria (BCBG) design team. She worked for Princess Lasertron doing bridal design and has shown 5 solo collections for Omaha Fashion week.

Hiked up a mountain in Norway to eat waffles (the waffles were closed for the season, so this part is imaginary), brown cheese and cider amongst goats and sheep. One of the best days of my life. Absolutely stunning at the peak to look down at the valley. The air was moist and crisp, the rock underfoot wet from a recent rain. The sheep and goats were coming down the mountain with us to spend winter in their sheltered valley quarters. Miss you, Norway. The gods look down upon you favourably.

Love this young cockerel so much. He flies in and out of the baby coop with ease, pecking and scratching wherever he wishes (no other babies do this, and he has been doing this since he first moved outside). He is a Dutch Owlbeard x Shetland hen. Despite being adventurous he is extremely sweet and loves to be held. I’m hoping to find a really good home for this special boy.

I feel so lucky to have these snowy fluff balls.

A lot of my silkie chicken friends have suffered devastating predator attacks in the past month. I would be truly heartbroken to lose these prized birds. Sending hearts and comfort to anyone who has lost cherished poultry to a predator attack. I try to stay vigilant and am working to improve my chicken infrastructure always, from what I’ve read electric wire is your friend. 🤍

🌟 cream Shetland hen 🌟

I’m so excited that I have hatched at least two cream Shetland hen chicks this season. I also have hatched an orange or buff looking Shetland hen chick that is looking gorgeous. It is the greatest honour to observe the blossoming of these creatures. The lighter Shetland hens seem to be more rare and I’m so happy to be hatching some from my Shetland hens that I originally hatched from eggs. Thank you, ! 🤍

Sanding the upper kitchen cabinets. It turns out I cannot live with the current stain. It doesn’t come through so much in photos but in real life the colour isn’t very vibrant, it lacks that beautiful depth of a nice dark stain. I did a little test on the lower corner and the wood seems to like it. Do you have a favourite stain? Is dark stain out right now? Does anyone still love stained furniture and cabinetry?
