Bridal Design, Alterations My name is Mairin Wehrbein--daughter in law of Kimberly!

My name is Kimberly Wehrbein, I am the owner and designer at The Perfect Dress. My story started over twenty years ago as a student of Fashion and Textile design. My dream at that time has become my vision of today – – to work one-on-one with my clients in Bridal and Formal wear, to create works of art that accentuate their best qualities, and bring their dreams to reality in a truly exceptional piece of wedding or formal wear. This can mean altering or redesigning a gown to fit and complement the 3-dimensional form, or creating an entirely new work of art for your wedding day or most important event. My passion is your complete satisfaction in designing, redesigning, or altering your wedding gown or formal wear. In 2023, I retired from 11 years as a middle school teacher to join Kim at The Perfect Dress. I have learned so much about the process of bridal alterations and am honing my sewing skills every day. In addition to learning the craft, I have also taken over as office manager--handling appointment bookings, etc. The most rewarding part about this industry is meeting and working with the brides--being about to jump in at such a joyous milestone is a privilege!

✨A moment for Lauren's stunning broach! ✨

A vintage pin (which can be removed and worn on its own) is used as the focal point of this stunning piece. Layers of lace, feathers, and Russian netting are used to add texture and dimension. Combined with Lauren's beautiful gown and custom cape, it creates the most unique, Art Deco-inspired reception look!

Kimberly originally designed this on a comb to be worn as a headpiece, but we reworked it to be used as the perfect finishing touch on Lauren's cape. It goes to show that the magic often happens during the fitting process! 😍

Our bride Lauren's reception look is the perfect mix of whimsy, sparkle, and Art Deco glam! We can't get over how chic this is!!🤍

🪡For her reception look we hemmed the English net layer of her skirt and reworked the remnant into this stunning cape. We also added a sweet little bustle! 🪡

✨The showstopper was the broach Kimberly designed using a vintage broach and layers of feathers and netting for all the stunning texture! It was the perfect addition to Lauren's one of a kind look! ✨

🪡Added bust cups and shaped the neckline
🪡Create and installed in internal corset for support and wearability
🪡Took in the side seams
🪡Fit and shortened the sleeves
🪡Hemmed allllllll the layers of her skirt
🪡Designed and installed a lovely bustle

Additionally, we redesigned her mom's veil and headpiece into a new veil and hair pieces! 🥹🤍

Here's what we did for Payton's custom look--
🪡We fit her gown from the bodice through the skirt
🪡We added an internal waist stay--a game changer for a strapless gown
🪡We fit her lace sleeves
🪡We designed, installed, and color coded a stunning bustle
🪡We also added custom peekaboo lace to the overskirt and neckline, redesigned the lace on her bodice to mimic a basque waist, and redesigned the overskirt's attachment system
