Most barefoot shoes look like five finger shoes.

That's fine if you're hiking a trail.

But I don't hike. I go to weddings. I go to the office. I go on first dates.

And I couldn't find a single barefoot shoe I'd actually wear to any of those.

The ones that tried to look "professional" looked terrible.

And the decent-looking dress shoes crushed my toes.

So I made my own.

Barefoot shoes that look like regular shoes.

Wide toe box, zero drop — but you can wear them with a suit and nobody will notice anything except that you look sharp.

And without paying $300–$400.

You shouldn't have to spend that much just to be comfortable.

That's the whole idea behind Birchbury.

The narrow shape of dress shoes originated in the 1300s as a status symbol to signify that the wearer did not perform manual labor. This design is no longer practical and causes foot pain and bunions because the shoes do not match the natural shape of the human foot.
