Today I’m covering all my machines and putting all my creative making things away because my new full time job is demanding.
I looked at this notification from Twitter and I got a little sentimental. This, her comment, that feeling is one of the reasons I loved what I did. Make custom made costumes for every body.
I’m grateful for all the people that trusted me with their special costumes. I was able to make items for people in wheelchairs, plus size, long torsos, short torsos, tall people, special red carpet events, special first birthday wears, lots of sizes and events in between including magazine and TV airing.
You all have filled my bucket with so much fulfillment and love. Your impact on my life is something I will forever hold dear. You let me bring my dream to life of being a costume designer.
I’ve chosen to not continue Mayela Couture as a business because the pandemic made it clear I needed a plan B. The other factor was the selling platform fees made it unsustainable for me.
I have some pre-made costumes in inventory and I’ll sell them here on IG after the new year.
Thank you for the friendships, every like, share, follow, and for being part of my life.
Wishing you all happiness, love, and beautiful moments in life.
