Almost 5 years ago, I stepped away from a career in pastoral ministry to take my side business building custom handmade furniture full time.

Back then, I dreamed of working with top tier designers like and building heirloom quality furniture for incredible homes and families.

Last week, when we delivered this custom solid white oak extension dining table to a beautiful home in Corona Del Mar, it felt like a reminder of how far we’ve come.

Today, I’ve got a team of craftsmen, a beautiful shop to work in, and a long list of clients we’re building meaningful pieces for.

So I'm taking a moment to feel grateful for this project, this team, and everyone who’s trusted us to build something for their home.

She’s a beauty, Clark.

Another custom white oak table heading to its new home beachside in San Clemente. Built from solid white oak and finished in Rubio Monocoat, this piece is all about subtle details done right. A 1/2” chamfer along the top softens the edge, while the tapered rectangular base features generous round-overs to keep things easy on the eyes and the shins.

It's been a busy year moving into a new shop and renovating it while continuing to build custom furniture pieces. Instagram has sort of fallen to the wayside in this time. So I thought I'd just do a quick video highlighting some of the pieces we've built in the last few months. We're still here, still going strong, and still putting out what we think are really beautiful pieces of furniture. We got a stack of interesting pieces coming out in the next month so I'll try to do a little better posting about those.

If you run a small business I think you can relate to how hard it is to stay consistent in all the different areas that are involved in running a business. For a season you can really excel at something and then you get busy and it's harder to give the time and attention to things that don't always feel like priority. That said the Instagram community has always been encouraging to us and it has been a source of inspiration. As much as it's a challenge to post, I know I always appreciate when other furniture makers share their work, so we'll try to do better here in the future. Thanks for sticking with us!

Today was so fun! Thanks to everyone who came out. It was so fun to have so much laughter and community in the shop. As we expected .coffee.co crushed it and we loved the ceramics from too. We’d love to do something like this a few times a year so keep your eyes and ears open in the future.

What are you doing tomorrow morning? We’re hosting an open house for a new shop in Fullerton and would love for you to swing by. We aren’t selling anything.
