From amusement park ride to pretty-in-pink Cadillac! 💗

Our client rescued this vintage kiddie car from an amusement park and came to us with a wonderfully fun vision: transform it into a miniature pink Cadillac.

We restored the body, finished it in the perfect shade of glossy pink, added sparkling chrome, Cadillac-inspired details, a custom windshield and a beautiful pink-and-white interior. Even the two original steering wheels remained—because every child deserves a turn behind the wheel!

What arrived faded, damaged and missing pieces left our shop looking glamorous, playful and ready to cruise. This may be one of the sweetest transformations we’ve ever completed!

Straight out of It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World!

This restoration was for another very special longtime client who knew exactly what he wanted: a faithful recreation of the Richfield Boron gas pump featured in the movie’s unforgettable gas-station scene.

Getting every detail just right was quite a challenge. We watched the scene over and over, pausing to take screenshots and study the colors, lettering and placement of every piece. Even tracking down the correct original-style decal took some serious hunting—but that is part of what makes projects like this so much fun.

We have completed many restorations for this client, and we always enjoy bringing his unique ideas to life. He has the vision, and we get the fun of searching for all the right pieces and putting everything together.

We lovingly called this one “The Leaning Tower.”

This revolving pie display case, believed to date back to the 1930s, arrived at our shop in disastrous condition. Our client had it shipped to us for restoration, but neither they nor we realized just how much work it would take to bring this beauty back to its original glory.

It was so unstable that even unwrapping it had to be done with extreme care. We removed every piece of glass, reinforced the entire structure and replaced the rotted wood. All of the metalwork was removed and sent out to be nickel-plated, and every piece of glass was newly cut.

Then came the scariest and most tedious part—carefully putting it all back together.

We have restored many challenging pieces over the years, but we have never been quite so relieved—or so happy—to deliver a finished project safely to its owner. From “The Leaning Tower” to this beautiful showpiece…what a transformation!

This project was especially sweet and very dear to our hearts.

One of our clients knew that his wife had always dreamed of having the large flamingos she remembered from the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas displayed in their own yard.

While he was very ill, he asked a well-known collector to find a pair for her—and incredibly, the collector located two that had actually come from the Flamingo Hotel itself.

They were brought to our shop, where we were entrusted with restoring them and bringing them back to life. While our client was in the hospital, we sent him daily updates so he could watch the progress. His greatest wish was to have the flamingos completely restored, delivered, and placed in their yard—and then to receive a photograph so he could see his wife’s dream come true.

As you can imagine, she was absolutely elated.

This one was truly a labor of love, and we feel so honored to have played a small part in such a beautiful and thoughtful gift.

Some projects are about the restoration…and some are just as much about the people we get to know along the way. 🤎

Ken has brought us so many wonderful projects over the years, many of them sentimental pieces that belonged to his wife’s father. We’ve restored everything from an old lantern and family street sign to a vintage locker for their son.

But this one was for Ken.

He had always wanted one of these old mechanical candy machines, and from the beginning he knew exactly what he wanted it to become — a Hershey’s machine. 🍫

The machine came to us missing several pieces, so part of the challenge was tracking down the correct original parts to make it complete again. Once we had everything we needed, the fun part began.

Ken was involved in the design right along with us, choosing the colors, graphics and details that turned an old 10¢ candy machine into the Hershey’s machine he had pictured in his head.

And yes…we may have had a little too much fun with this one. 😂

That’s one of our favorite things about what we do. We don’t just restore old machines. We get to know the people behind them, hear their stories and sometimes help bring an idea they’ve had for years to life.

It’s customers like Ken who make this job so much fun.

Some people see junk.
We see what it could be.

One of our favorite clients pulled this little gem out of an old carnival junkyard and brought it to us to bring back to life.

And this is exactly the kind of project Bill loves.

There was A LOT of bodywork between that first photo and the finished piece you see here. Years of wear, dents and damage had to disappear before that deep red and black paint could ever look this good.

But there’s another part of this restoration that makes me especially proud.

Bill trained alongside my dad for years, learning everything he could from him — the techniques, the patience and the incredibly high standards my dad expected from every restoration that left our shop.

Today, Bill is every bit the craftsman my dad taught him to be — and I can honestly say, in many ways, he may have even surpassed his teacher.

He is truly a gifted artist.

Nearly 40 years ago, this Coca-Cola machine found its way into one family’s home after being purchased from a friend in Big Bear. It quickly became the centerpiece of countless birthday parties, family gatherings, and afternoons filled with neighborhood kids stopping by for an ice-cold Coke.

Years passed, the children grew up, and now they have families of their own.

When it came time to decide who would inherit this beloved machine, one son immediately knew he wanted to continue the tradition with his own children. So his parents quietly came to us with a special mission…

To completely restore it and surprise him with it for his birthday.

Every scratch we removed represented years of laughter. Every part we restored was done with one goal in mind—to preserve the memories while creating many more for the next generation.

It’s an honor to be entrusted with projects like this. We don’t just restore vintage machines—we help preserve family history.

Happy Birthday to one very lucky son… and here’s to the grandchildren who will soon be making memories around the very same Coca-Cola machine. ❤️🥤

This vintage Manley popcorn machine once served moviegoers in a small-town theater in Northern California. Our client remembered it from when he was a young boy, visiting the theater with his family.

Years later, after the theater had been closed for decades, the building was sold. During the cleanup, the old popcorn machine was discovered, still sitting where it had served generations of movie lovers.

Our client knew he had to have it.

He brought it to us with one simple request: “Can you make it look just like I remember it?”

We searched for the correct vintage parts, painstakingly restored every detail to its original appearance, and went one step further—we returned it to full working condition so it could once again pop fresh popcorn.

For us, restoration isn’t just about refinishing metal and replacing parts. It’s about preserving history, honoring memories, and giving treasured pieces a second life.
