This week’s honoree is the fabulous, feathered diva herself—Cornelia, better known around here as Polish Chicken!
She may be terrible at her actual job (one or two eggs a month if we’re lucky), but nobody brings more personality to the flock. We officially hired her for vibes only, and she delivers every single day.
Cornelia’s signature look? That fabulous hair—a towering crest of feathers that sticks straight up like she just rolled out of the salon. We joke she’s strictly for display use only. No heavy lifting (or heavy laying) required.
True to her title, she has to be in the absolute center of everything. Fixing the coop? She’s right in the middle of the tools, “supervising” every hammer swing. Cleaning? She’s perched on the board you’re trying to move. Anything exciting happening? Cornelia is front and center, fluffing her magnificent topknot for maximum dramatic effect.
She’s the ultimate personality hire: zero productivity, maximum entertainment.

This week’s shining star is our wise and wonderful elder hen, Doris!
While the rest of the flock races out of the coop like it’s Black Friday at the feed store, Doris takes her sweet time—fashionably last every morning. And honestly? It’s a brilliant strategy. That means exclusive one-on-one time for hand-fed treats from her favorite human. No pushing, no pecking order drama—just pure, pampered VIP service.
Doris is a dedicated professional when it comes to dirt baths. Her once-pristine white feathers? Now gloriously coated in a perfect layer of “coop couture” dust. She doesn’t do “clean”—she does character.
And let’s be real: she has zero patience for the young chicks and their rowdy nonsense. One sassy peep too close, and she gives them the classic “I’ve been laying eggs since before you were hatched” side-eye. Respect your elders, kids!

Meet Storm 😤 – just trying to have a peaceful moment in her favorite spot. Then comes Barb 🐔 – zero personal space awareness, sees ALL the other empty boxes… and decides ‘Nah, I want THIS one!’
Storm’s face says it all: ‘Girl, we need to talk about boundaries.’ 😬 There are literally plenty of perfectly empty boxes RIGHT THERE, but nooo… Barb had to pick the ONE that’s already occupied. Personal space? What’s that? 😂🐔

While the rest of the flock is peacefully pecking scratch like civilized chickens, she’s dramatically starving for mealworms (the peasants’ scratch simply won’t do). If gourmet bugs aren’t on the menu, she simply will perish… theatrically.
Friendly 11/10. Jumpscare shoulder attacks 12/10. She WILL parkour onto your shoulder while you’re holding coffee—or anything else fragile. You’ve been warned.
