Roland brought home some heartbreaking tearsome Mothers Day items from school today. I managed to work his butterfly ornament into my ensemble I got second hand when living in Malaga in 2003. A Flamenco concert tonight at work.

2022: A Hurricane Ian saga.
We are all safe here, boy, myself, cats. As always, the hardest part of hurricanes appears to be the prep work. This I had to do with no help while very sick with a bored, energetic 5 yr old out of school. I'm beat. We have no power still, since last night, but have been given a repreive with some cooler temps and a nice wind. I lugged in 80lbs of ice yesterday, so the full freezers wont go bad, and i am prepped as one can be for 3 days or more no power. Lets hope that doesn't happen. Silver linings are: no need to risk my life on a ladder trying to get the avocados off the trees. Also, the best moment of the whole ordeal, I found Sunny Jim, the feral, scrawny, beaten up, pathetic looking cat I feed on my porch at 7pm feeding time last night as the rain was pounding and winds were blowing. He was hunkered down looking hopeful, so i lured him inside with the food for the first time. He wont even let me touch him. He passed the night in safety, well fed, dry and comfy...now I cant get the flea-infested bastard to leave! 😹😹😹
