Today, we pause to remember the 91 miners who lost their lives in the Sunshine Mine Disaster on May 2, 1972, in Kellogg, Idaho.

Their sacrifice, the grief carried by their families, and the lasting impact on the Silver Valley mining community will never be forgotten.

Due to a power outage affecting the Silver Valley area, our shop will be closed today. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We are hopeful that power will be restored soon and plan to be back open for business tomorrow. We'll post an update once we have more information.

A look back at mining history in Kellogg, Idaho.

This 1897 photo shows miners working at the original Bunker Hill “Glory Hole,” one of the most significant lead and silver discoveries in the Coeur d’Alene district. Location papers for the outcrop were posted in 1885, marking the start of what would become one of the world’s premier ore operations.
