It seems hard to believe, but Jerry's Record Joint turns 10 years old on June 11th. We started offering our "Vintage Records at Vintage Prices" at Folklore LLC (across from the Roxy) on June 11th, 2016 and remained there until they closed their doors about two years later. We moved to our current home at Originals Mall of Antiques in 2018 and have proudly remained there ever since.

To celebrate, Jerry is getting married to his longtime love Marie in less than two weeks. While the marriage plans are legit, the date was in fact set without consideration for the JRJ anniversary (i.e. it was a joke). He also gave our little slice of vinyl heaven an update that was mainly motivated by his decision to move the huge white pigeon coop shelf to our corporate headquarters (Jerry's house). We think the new set-up works just fine and we hope our fabulous vinyl-loving friends agree! Jerry is even giving his under-appreciated and oft-harassed staff (Me, Myself, and I) the day off.

Friends have been made along the way and people have been incredibly kind and complimentary to our efforts. A recent example was yesterday. Jerry was working on the overhaul and a young patron was relieved to learn that we were just rearranging and not moving and/or closing. We are grateful to anyone and everyone who has supported us along the way. We realize that there are tons of great options for finding vinyl, and we are humbled to know that so many make us a part of their quest for quality vinyl. We will work our tails off to keep things rolling.

***OUR APOLOGIES FOR FIRST CIRCLING BACK TO THIS NOW AND UPDATING OUR ORIGINAL POST***

We hope your Memorial Day weekend was fantastic and included honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our fragile freedoms in some way. We also want to wish a Happy Birthday to the man himself, the one-and-only Bob Dylan, who turned 85 on Sunday. Anyone who has been around Jerry in any capacity understands the love he has for his amazing musical vision and journey. It has literally helped to shape his approach to life.

Jerry added the "Vintage Records at Vintage Prices" shown on Sunday, and this set, as usual, included some Bob. Other highlights include some amazing Byrds albums, including the super hard-to-find "Sweetheart of the Rodeo," along with a first pressing of the Ramones second album "Leave Home." Also worth noting is the highly sought ZZ Top's "First Album." Hardcore Beatles fans are familiar with the first pressing of the White Album that had 7 song titles misspelled and were ultimately corrected on later pressings. The copy going in is one of those rarities. There is also an amazing sounding original mono copy of "Magical Mystery Tour." (NOTE: The Clash, Weird Al, and Love albums already sold!)

As promised, Jerry is back today with a new batch of "Vintage Records at Vintage Prices" and they will go in at around noon today (Saturday, April 25). Lots of goodies in this batch and we (Me, Myself, and I) have worked overtime to make them the best versions of themselves possible.

Deadheads take notice!!! A few of these adds are top copies!!! "Blues for Allah" and "Terrapin Station" are beautiful and the copy of "Steal Your Face" is cleaner than most. Also worth noticing is a fantastic early pressing of David Bowie's "Heroes." There are tons of great folk rock classics like Joni Mitchell's "Blue," John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High," and the Byrds' "Notorious Byrd Brothers" to name just a few. The vintage pressing of Black Sabbath's "Vol. 4" looks beat as can be but plays decently. There is lots of surface noise that affects the quiet passages but the rockers sound terrific with this "hot mix."

Happy April, Happy Easter, and and a blessed Passover to any and all! The fantastic vinyl-loving friends who frequent Jerry's Record Joint have been doing their part, now it's time for Jerry and his notorious staff (Me, Myself, and I) to do theirs! We return with vigor with this great new set of 100 or so "Vintage Records at Vintage Prices." They fed our always hungry bins late yesterday (April 3) and are excited about finding new homes in the days and weeks ahead!

This particular group has lots of great Soul/Funk/R&B. We always work hard to keep our selection of Dylan up to s***f, and the great mono copies of "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" and "Highway 61 Revisited" are sure to spend lots of quality time on some smart person's turntable. We also filled some holes in our stock of the Beatles, Who, and Elvis among many others.

As promised, Jerry is back with another great set of "Vintage Records at Vintage Prices" and they were dropped earlier today (Saturday, March 7). The great folks who frequent JRJ are keeping us busy, but we are up to the challenge of keeping our hungry bins fed.

Today's load features multiple LPs by Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull, Willie Nelson, Chicago, and Donovan. There is also a big set of sealed Ernest Tubb albums, all priced at $8.

Happy Friday Everyone!!! Jerry and his dubious staff (Me, Myself, and I) are very ready to shed ourselves of February and move on to March Madness. It has been a busy stretch that included (among other things) a variety of family situations that required attention and a week in Costa Rica (didn't find any records but found monkeys and beaches).

Jerry has been chomping at the bit to add a nice batch of "Vintage Records at Vintage Prices" and he was able to drop off 60 or so nuggets today (Friday, February 27) to feed our hungry bins. Though it has been nearly a month since our last batch of LPs, we have been steadily adding 45s, CDs, t-shirts, sunglasses, and other assorted fun things along with doing some cleaning and reorganizing work to our little piece of real estate.

The highlight of today is no less than a dozen gems by old "Golden Throat" himself, the Fabulous Johnny Cash. There are some fantastic early mono pressings from the Man In Black that are top-of-the-line, keeper copies. I would advise anyone who likes what they see to hustle in Saturday before they get gobbled up. We just added a bunch of Cash albums in our last batch and they were scooped up quickly.

Jerry has been challenged by the great supporters of JRJ to keep the bins bursting and he will answer the bell. There is another family situation tomorrow that prevented him from putting in more today, but he is close on another batch and that should come by next weekend at the latest.

Happy Saturday Everyone!!! Who else is ready to tear January from the calendar???

Jerry added 100 "Vintage Records at Vintage Prices" today (Saturday, January 31) to feed our hungry bins. There are lots of goodies today, including a crap-ton of Beatles-related items. Collectors might be interested in the two early pressings of "Meet The Beatles" with some rare label variations. There is also a sealed copy of the 2019 remix of "Abbey Road" as well as a beautiful UK import version of one of McCartney's best albums, 1971's "RAM." This variation is one of the best sounding versions of this masterpiece you will find and is a "final upgrade" type of copy. Speaking of final upgrades, there is an AMAZING copy of the Doors legendary debut album along with one of the nicest copies of the highly sought after die-cut "window" covers of "L.A. Woman" we have ever seen.

People ask if we have any Jimmy Buffett on vinyl all the time. It is hard-to-find and always goes quickly, so don't hesitate if you are in the market. We also have multiple offerings by (among others) Joe Walsh, Bruce Springsteen, the Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, the Who, and Cream.

Happy Saturday Music Lovers!!! Here is a great article Jerry's daughter recently wrote about the comeback of physical media. It never really left his world, but our fantastic support really backs up the point she is making in her article. It's a proud dad moment!!! Have an awesome weekend!!!

Local business owners have noticed a shift. Frustrated by streaming services for movies and music, many locals are turning back to DVDs, records and other physical media.

I am first getting around to updating this post from yesterday, and since that time the world learned about the unfortunate passing of the great Bob Weir, one of the founding members of the Grateful Dead and one of the few individuals to be present at every Grateful Dead show. He obviously leaves behind an amazing body of work and memories to last several lifetimes. We at JRJ are saddened by this loss and send peace to our many Deadhead patrons.
