May 29 is Entrepreneur Day in Oskaloosa!

If we haven’t met, let me introduce myself, I’m Judy Groenendyk aka Jude owner and Artist of Brushed by Jude

I’m a retired nurse and paint spattered creates.

I didn’t just open a shop…

I built a space where old furniture gets a second chance,

Local makers get seen…

Strangers become friends over paint brushes, crochet hooks ,coffee and lively conversation.

From refinishing forgotten pieces…

To hosting classes, events, Ladies Night Out, and creating a home for entrepreneurs inside The Artisan Niche,

Every corner of Brushed by Jude tells a story of taking a chance on yourself.

Entrepreneurship isn’t glamorous every day.

It’s late nights.

Paint in your hair.

Last-minute ideas.

Learning as you go.

Believing in your vision before anyone else fully sees it.

So having the Mayor of Oskaloosa proclaim May 29 as Entrepreneur Day feels deeply personal — not just for me, but for every small business owner out there showing up, creating, risking, rebuilding, and dreaming out loud.

Cheers to the movers and shakers!

The women with another crazy idea.

The ex side hustlers turned storefront owners.The ones who refuse to quit.

And honestly?We’re just getting started!
