Last night’s Tell Me More storytelling event was a perfect start to something wonderful! We had engaged and interactive participation from everyone that came and it’s clear that there are many in our community that have a shared vision and appreciation for what creative outlets like this can do to bring us all together! We are locking in on the date of the next event but the theme is decided as RESOLUTIONS so you can start putting pen to paper right now! Can’t wait until we gather next!

Just 30 hours or so until we launch our new event series and we have had such a tremendous response! As a reminder, space is limited by our occupancy but priority will be given to storytellers so if you want to add your name to the list of our storytellers please message asap to let us know to reserve your spot in the space!

In other exciting news, Owosso’s own celebrity baker, Jill Davis from Drizzle Cakes and Bakes, has agreed to set up a pop up counter during the event and sell us her amazing swear word scrabble cookie kits and boozy eggnog brownies!!!

As always, there is sidewalk construction by the Main St entrance however there is plenty of parking out front, on the side street and in the back parking lot!

Doors open at 6:30pm. BYOB. BYOF (but bring an appetite for boozy brownies too!)

Battling an ear infection for days but the meds finally kicked in so off I ran to the shop to give the old fireplace a better color in time for the upcoming Tell Me More open mic storytelling event on Friday!

One week from tonight…we begin our new storytelling open mic night with Tell Me More right here in Owosso, MI. For those that want some pointers on the art of great storytelling check out this advice from the producers of The Moth

Want to trade for chair(s)? I LOVE a mismatched, heavily textured environment and as we work toward onboarding special events like the Tell Me More Storytelling Open Mic night and work to transition toward our lovely fem-forward cafe I'd like to bring in a variety of awesome places to perch! So, I have a ton of amazing vintage items in the shop now which I would be happy to offer up as trade for a quirky, neat, unusual or otherwise underutilized chair you may have collecting dust in a corner of your room. What would be cooler than to visit your own chair when you come into the shop?!?

Who wants to come shop the survivor stash?!? I’m going to be opening boxes, unpacking and selling all at once! It turns out coffee equipment isn’t free so to make this changeover from vintage into feminist clubhouse extraordinaire we need to take an out with the old, in with the new approach! Come in Friday (10-3) Saturday (10-2) and perhaps Sunday if we still have more to sell for a MAKE OFFER sale folks…cool ass vintage stuff that was already reasonably priced with the added fun of even more deals for those that make an offer :)

Mocking up some new scenes as we carve out space to add in coffee, treats and an awesome clubhouse for all of us to work, socialize and hatch a millions plans to take over the world in.

I just got a special delivery from Servpro and am now unpacking and getting the shop put back together this week so we can reopen next week 🙂. Stay tuned!

Look what Will finished up in the wee hours of the night last night!!! These babies can sit and rest for a few days and then the rest of the remodel can continue. We are going to be creating a coffee/cafe lounge down here so we can see all of our favorite faces everyday by supplying a daily dose of our favorite stimulant. Just think of all of the plans we can hatch and better tomorrows we can envision with an espresso in hand! Look for more updates about that in the coming weeks.
