Groundfloor Shoes opened their door on October 1, 1976. 45 years later, Scott DeVillez is still at 206 Broadway fitting comfortable, stylish shoes. Prior to opening, Scott went to New York City, working at the Kalso flagship store in Greenwich Village to learn how to fit shoes. In addition to this training, he took a correspondence course with the National Shoe Retailers Association to become a me

mber of the Professional Shoe Fitters Society. Through the years, he has tried to help all customers have happy feet. And to all of you that have supported Groundfloor Shoes through these 45 years ….

🎄so soon…🎄..it seems..yet here we are..Christmas Eve Day..I’m headed to the shop early..I’ve got a few small stocking stuffers under $10 I’m going to get out…still have a few “Gone With the Wind” collector prints..also some Scratch Art Prints , Jewelry, and Books from our friend Dennison Tsosie - Navajo Silversmith and Shaman …I have shoes from $10 to over $200….If you havn’t been to our shop of 50 years recently (Groundfloor Shoes - 206 Broadway - Downtown Paducah)…this will be your last Christmas to experience a bit of Americanism and Nostalgia of days gone by.. as next year will find me here only on Friday and Saturdays ,for sure , as negotiations continue..and I sift through the memories of a wonderful life………If my Mother was still here..She would agree as I say…Thank You for the support You have given to us, we have met many wonderful people and forged many friendships..Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and in the immortal words of Red Skelton “God Bless and Good Night”

What happened to the Time..here we are again…with Christmas around the corner, I will be here everyday, including Christmas Eve..
This will be the last Christmas I spend with you…as the New Year will only find me here on Fridays and Saturdays….as I begin straightening up 50 years of……no telling what treasures I might find..no telling what treasures You might find…..Merry Christmas to All and the Happiest of New Years..🎶🎄🎶

I’ve had people asking for copper rings (I wear them myself as my Mother did)….It’s been awhile, but I got some in, along with anklets, bracelets….some with magnets….remember…I’m only here Wed. thru Sat. 11-4…..on another note..my primary footwear now, is NAOT…other styles I still have, have been marked down..some as low as $35..limited sizing of course..Have an enjoyable Summer..

Just a heartfelt “Thank You”…it was on his date ..October 1 in 1976…we opened our door to you…we were young and really had no idea how long our dream would be..and..we are still opening our door…starting 46 years today..it has been quite the adventure..
