Antique purses with this quality of workmanship are rarely in such excellent, ready to wear often condition. This lovely purse has an architectural shape, with a long drop that will be deep enough for you to fit most, if not all, of your modern girl essentials.

The purse has an antique goldtone metal frame, hardware, latch and handle. The frame opens from the top and the upper latch crosses and is supported by the bow shaped metal segment.

The needlepoint is in excellent condition, and is black with a floral pattern on the front. All the stitches are the same size. The needlepoint is handmade with expertise.

The purse is lined in a black fabric. $239

The curve enhancing fitted silhouette defines the sexy wiggle dress of the 1950s. When the styling and workmanship are this elegant, the dress is a perfect choice for now and forever. The illusion sleeves and upper back bodice are made from narrow cords of the douppioni silk, twisted into a soutache coiled geometric pattern. The douppioni silk is used to create both shantung and douppioni fabrics. The elegant fabric is woven with slubbed yarns that may resemble a fine denier Thai silk. Once upon a time...there was a little ballerina, who loved the tulle of her tutu and satin of her ballet shoes as much as she loved to twirl and jump. The little ballerina grew up to be a dancer, and a lifelong passion for the glamour of the costumes defined her visual world. Later, while obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at a large Connecticut university, OGOtheMagnificent, the dancer, focused on costume design, spending as many hours in the costume shop as at the barre for dance class. As you can imagine, there was a small hop, skip and jump from costume design to vintage clothing and ethnic costume collector.
