2 hours ⏱️ in the darkroom. 8 seconds on screen 📲.
A little explanation:
Photo emulsion is coated onto a mesh screen.
Under UV light 💡 the emulsion hardens.
The film blocks the image.
Water 💦 reveals the stencil.
Screen printing:
First patented in 1907 by Samuel Simon.
Later pushed into the fine art world by Andy Warhol.
Out here still using my original exposure box.
At its core, the process hasn’t changed, only our tools and perception have.
