Hey! Long time no see 💔

I’ve gotten a few messages over the last several months so I wanted to take a sec to make a public post about where I’ve been and why I haven’t been active here.

As many of you know, I’m a full time student and single mom. I also recently decided to pursue my yoga teaching certification and I am now a yoga instructor at the youth center here in Pampa! I’ve got a lot on my plate right now and it hasn’t been easy to find time to create things, but that is not why I am no longer actively selling and promoting my handmade items.

Every item I’ve shown on here is still available for purchase, and I’m glad to make things for people upon request, but I just don’t have the time to promote items, design clothing drops for the seasons, and make a ton of items that may or may not sell.

Furthermore, sewing is an extremely time consuming hobby. Fabric is not cheap, nor are the notions that are required (needles, thread, buttons, etc etc.). All small business owners deserved to be paid for their time, especially creators. For me to make a profit, and remain an affordable brand would force me to accept less than $2/hour for the work I do. Times are tough for all of us, and I can’t accept such low wages, nor can I feel at peace trying to sell children’s clothes for more than a pair of Nike shoes, knowing they’ll grow out of those clothes in a couple of months.

I am still actively behind one of my many sewing machines (I’ve gathered a bit of a collection of machines over the last year), making quilts and clothes for family and friends and I hope to share the things I’m creating here still! While I may not actively be selling, my inbox is always open for requests and my supplies are always at the ready.

So many have been asking, so, yes, I do still make and sell my book bags! And I know from personal experience, people LOVE getting them as a gift.

These fabric options are mix and match, but I intentionally paired them with what I think will look best! If you’d like to order, please read entire post before messaging me!

✨ Be sure to specify which fabric you want on the exterior and which one on the interior (e.g. Plaid (Blue) exterior, Aztec Blue interior). If unspecified, I will decide for you.

Woke up to a bunch of new followers so I figured this would be the perfect time to show the face behind the fabric and dive into what Aure’s is all about!

For those of you who don’t already know me, I’m Nicole, the owner and solo seamstress here! I am a solo parent to a wonderful little girl and full-time college student double majoring in finance and accounting at WTAMU. I officially began my sewing journey over a year ago and immediately fell in love with the craft! I primarily focus on infant and toddler clothes and accessories. I also make adult size items here and there, as well as book/bible bags, and nap mats for your little ones in school or daycare.

Aure’s Apparel is named after my three year old, Aurelia; my number one Guinea pig, the cutest model, and the only reason I ever tried out sewing to begin with. The butterflies you see everywhere is a homage to my late grandmother, who’s machine I learned on, but never got to share any creations with.

The structure here at Aure’s is under construction, and ever changing currently, as there’s a lot of room to grow and learn! For now, this is what you can expect:

Every item is carefully curated to suit your tastes and individual needs. Making items on demand rather than in bulk helps reduce overproduction and eliminates the need for inventory space. I don’t keep many fabric options on hand. I place orders for fabric on Fridays when I have items that have been ordered and paid for. This makes TAT a little longer, but I think those who wear Aure’s Apparel or put their babies in it will tell you, it’s worth the wait! Please keep in mind when you order that it may take up to 6 weeks to receive your items!

All of my fabrics are pre-washed in a homemade, hypoallergenic and fragrance-free detergent and pressed to shrink before the cutting process begins. After your items are completed, they’re washed again to ensure they meet my quality of standard.

I’m so excited you’re here, and can’t wait to share all things Aure with you all!
