Finally!! In what has to be the most ridiculously absurd insurance battle to date, three looooong years of hard work from a dedicated team of professionals has finally led to todays delivery of my new Permobil standing wheelchair. I wish I could tell you the trials and tribulations it took to get here, but it would take a literal tomes worth of space to recount it. Instead I want to fill this space with a huge round of thanks for the dedicated team of my local NuMotion who has been with me not only throughout the lengths of this battle, but throughout the whole journey of my injury and through many MANY buyouts and changes of DME companies they’ve been through to get here. A big debt of gratitude to my insurance care manager who at points in time even doubted that she was the right person to be my care manager, fearing that our long battles were somehow because she wasn’t doing something right…it wasn’t her, it was 💯 the hoops and hurdles and back door dealings of the insurance company constantly working against us and her to make getting this chair happen. I’m forever thankful that she stuck by my side to help this day come. Big shout out and handshakes all around to my VocRehab counselor who was thrown into the middle of this battle another city away and with no information to boot, but she got to business quick and in a hurry to catch up and had her end of the battle won in just a few scant months! And we can’t forget my wife, who rallied the troops, threatened the detractors with the viciousness of a rabid beast (she’s so cute 🥰😂), and handled any and every task that AAAALLLLL the entities that be asked of her from all directions (the phrase “have you contacted the wife” has become the slogan of all involved 🤣) So check out my new wheels, get a gander at how good that design looks in this new ride, and welcome home the newest of the family.
