Speckled sea trout is one of many favorites to target when temperatures drop, especially along coastal lines in the SE part of the country. Florida is no stranger to the gluten, often called "gators" for their tenacious appetite. They're related to the drum & not in the trout family at all. They are more related to a redfish or black drum.

Catfish holes are a great place to find them, especially with your bare hands. Although we suggest rod & reel, sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. Stay tight my friends.

Vermilions spend most of their time in open water above or next to structure, not in it. They use their speed & precision to chase down small fish & other prey. This is how they got their nickname: Beeliners.

The jaguar guapote (gwa-po-te) is one of the more unique cichlids. Their mouths protrude out, allowing them to sn**ch prey more easily. Mature males may develop red tips on their K-9 like fangs. And, they are one of the only cichlids that dig a den in the substrate or at the base of a wall of weeds. Make no mistake. They are one of the most hardest species to sight fish due to their digital camo.

The bull shark is one of the most aggressive sharks. They have the ability to transition from fresh to saltwater instantly. And have been found hundreds of miles inland, sighted by campers.

Did you know the black drum is related to the redfish, which is also related to the speckled sea trout? All are known to make a drumming noise, much like a croaker & for good reason. It is closely related to the black drum too.

The giant trevally is strong, fast & has amazing sight, especially when targeting prey like birds in flight, make the GT one of the most sought after game species in the world. Have you caught one?
