The honeybees and bumblebees appear to be dancing among the blooms of Sylvia on this Florida morning.
I have a feeling the real-life Nancy and Suzanne are smiling down from Heaven and enjoying the show. 🤍🐝💜🌿

I listened to something this morning that spoke to my heart.

It compared daughters to the beach—forever changing, forever being shaped by the moon, beautiful in every season.

It compared fathers to the shorebreak—the steady strength that stands firm and allows us to crash against it when the tides of life pull us in every direction.

And it compared mothers to the ocean.

Vast.

Wild and peaceful.

Strong and yielding.

Ancient and forever changing.

Mothers have been the beach. They know the beach. They know what it is to be shaped, to be pulled by unseen moons, to be both violent and still, calm and fierce. The world asks much of them, and yet they continue to give.

But perhaps the metaphor is incomplete.

Because the ocean also receives.

Rivers flow into her.

Rain falls upon her.

The moon dances with her.

And even the shore gives her shape.

The sea and the shore belong to one another.

Neither is whole without the other.

And perhaps that is what God intended all along.

Not sameness.

Not competition.

But belonging.

I am my mother’s daughter.

The woman who somehow always had enough.

Who welcomed strangers.

Who made room.

Who lived with abundance, even when there wasn’t abundance.

The hummingbird.

And perhaps my daughter carries me, just as I carry my mother.

Like waves.

Like bees.

Like seasons.

Again and again.

Maybe that is why I love the ocean so much.

Not simply because it is beautiful.

But because it is vast enough to hold contradictions.

Wild and peaceful.

Strong and gentle.

Giving and receiving.

Ancient and forever changing.

And perhaps that is why, standing beside the Gulf, I do not merely admire it.
I recognize it.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to share Beachy Bee with such a supportive community. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions about the bees, browsed our products, and spent time with us.

One of our favorite parts is connecting with families, meeting fellow small business owners, and watching children light up when they discover the fascinating world of honey bees.

A special thank you to the organizers, volunteers, vendors, and shoppers who make these events possible. We appreciate the hard work that goes into creating such a welcoming space for local businesses to grow.

We were honored to be a part of it!

I just took this photo in the bee yard tonight and honestly… I’m still a little amazed I captured her this clearly on my phone. 🐝🌴

The girls have been extra buzzy lately, and I think we finally figured out why… the saw palmetto has started blooming.

Tiny golden pollen baskets.
Fresh Florida blooms.
Thousands of little wings hard at work in the evening sunshine. ☀️🍯

Pure magic.

A porch full of tired little workers after a long hot day. ☀️🐝

When the hive gets warm and crowded, honey bees gather outside in what beekeepers call “bearding” to help cool and ventilate the colony.

Collected slowly, styled simply, and inspired by the coast. 🤍

Raw wildflower honey, artisan teas, hand-finished oyster shells, soft linens, and beautiful pieces for slow summer days at home.

We’ll be at the Sunday Social Market on May 31st. ☀️🐚🍯

It may be the hottest day we’ve had so far this year, based on the way the girls are bearding tonight. ☀️🐝

On hot evenings, honey bees gather outside the hive to help cool things down inside.

Thousands of bees working together in perfect rhythm… making space, moving air, protecting the colony.

I’ll never get over them letting me get this close. Looking down and seeing thousands of tiny eyes staring back at me never gets old.

One of the many little wonders of beekeeping. 🍯
