Shall I say it? And “sew” it begins! 😜. Thankful Mathilda’s legs are holding out. Today starts the deconstruction of the MoriLee wedding gown! I am removing the skirt from the bodice and then I will separate the skirt pieces so I can lay the robe pattern out. Tomorrow is week 4 post-op, so I think I am good to go for cutting - which means “floor work!” 😜 All that fluff and lining gets saved because ya never know if a future dress needs a little something-something! I am excited!!!

It’s early Tuesday morning and my challenge of the day is sitting on my sewing table staring back at me! Coffee has been downed and may need another cup (uh oh)! Future groom’s pants are a tad bit too small. The company doesn’t have a larger size. Yes, I can move the button over to the blue pin but the zipper won’t go all the way to the top! Bride said it’s ok, they’ll figure something out! But I just cannot see anyone, male or female, uncomfortable in their clothing! Especially on a very important day! I guess this is where the “magic” happens! I’ll talk to my co-workers, 😜😜, but I’m sure they’ll agree with me! Silly dummies!!! 🤣😂

I am steadily increasing work, however, please note that I will not be taking in any new jobs until next Monday, April 6th! I am finishing up a hem or two, or three! 😜. But thinking about reconfiguring my 12x13 sewing room!! My dream is to have all my machines in one room, but unfortunately that isn’t possible! A brand new “blind hemming” machine is going to be arriving soon. I need to clear space for it! You can see 4 different machines right now but machines 5, 6, 7, and 8 are not in this pic! Yes, I know I can have a she-shed set up in my backyard, but that is not financially feasible at this time. Maybe if I hit the lottery. Ooppps, I gotta play to win first!! 😜

These are going to be awesome keepsakes!! These were my client’s “dad’s” favorite t-shirts cut into strips and sewn together - at a diagonal. I am making 3 of them, each will be a little different. I am working on sizing “dad’s” last name to embroider across the center. Then they each will be placed in 11x17 frames!! Such a great idea if you didn’t want the memory bear/animal.

Lookie at what my new client just brought in! This beautiful 1997 Mori Lee gown was just unboxed for the 1st time; I let my client do the honors!! Mathilda was fortunate enough to have her legs fixed just so she can wear this gorgeous dress! I get the honor of turning it into 2, possibly 3 bridal robes! I am so excited, but I have to wait until the doc says I can put my head down for an extended period of time! I have visions already popping into my brain! Even when I don’t have power - and still need to keep my head up from surgery - I can still find a way to do some work! Lol. I took the legs off of Mathilda to fix them yesterday but she can sit flat on the table. That’s a small flashlight hovering from Mathilda’s adjustable k**b so I can see and mark hems on jeans/pants. Still obeying the doc’s orders!! Where there’s a will, there’s a way!! 😜😝
