So…this is the post that I have been trying to avoid for the last several months…

After the chain bookstore opened in Jonesboro, our sales plummeted to just BARELY covering the expense of staying open (and that is WITHOUT me drawing any salary from this business). I have tried expanding inventory, increasing social media interaction, hosting signings, etc. and we’ve still barely kept rent and utilities paid.

Then September hit, and we dipped below the necessary monthly sales required to keep the cash flow from dipping into the negative.

I realize that money is tight all around, and I firmly believe that businesses should sink or swim by their own merit.
So I am asking that you cast your vote with your dollars as to whether you believe that we are a meritorious business that you wish to keep open in Downtown Paragould.

Remember us and all other local small businesses this shopping season!
