I recently visited the newly opened The Only True Protest Is Beauty at Fondazione Dries Van Noten, in the extraordinary Palazzo Pisani Moretta in Venice. More than an exhibition — it was a magnificent and deeply moving experience where history, art, architecture, fashion, design, and craftsmanship were seamlessly woven together into something truly magical.

Every room felt like a dialogue between past and present, tradition and reinvention. Curated by the ever talented Dries Van Noten with Geert Bruloot,

What stayed with me most was the reminder that in tumultuous times, beauty itself can be a form of protest — a source of light, humanity, and hope that helps carry us beyond the hatred and darkness that can so often surround us.

Be Everything: Mother’s Matter

Kate Chanson’s story is one of resilience, motherhood, and refusing to disappear.

A singer, creator, and solo mother based in Park City, Kate was thrust into single motherhood the moment her son was born. While navigating instability, she built a life—and a business—from scratch. Studying music while her son slept and performing whenever childcare allowed, she eventually created a sought-after luxury entertainment brand.

The latest photoshoot in collaboration with photographer Kristen Pierce themed “Be Everything: Mothers Matter,” explores the invisible labor and impossible expectations placed on women—especially mothers—and asks a simple question: What happens when a mother refuses to give up on her dreams?
