Hi FergsNest followers,

I’m continuing to downsize. The fabric market is just not the same and currently my efforts are better spent in other areas of my life. I’m ready for the mountains of fabric and inventory that have lived in my house for over a decade to turn into gentle rolling hills. Maybe I can even have a normal dining room setup for the first time in my adult life! 🤣
I do still have a few of my most popular items available, like some double sided minky blankets (pictured) and hot/cold rice packs (Chill Pills pictured. I also have Owie Elephants and Shoulder Sloths.).
I also have burp cloths, loveys of varying sizes, a few adult size rag quilts and throws, and satin edge blankets. I’ll try to get some better pictures and post in the comments.

Owie Elephants are small flannel elephants filled with rice that can be heated up or stored in the freezer. Great for both kids and adults. $6 each. Pick up in Parker, CO or I can ship.
Each elephant is numbered and unique. There are 71 available. First come, first serve when telling me which you would like. Let me know if there are any questions!

Just so we all understand the numbering system, some of my favorites are 19 (sunflower print), 25 (airplane print), 32 (galaxy), 56 (grey/white/teal), 62 (ghosts!), and 67 (Harry Potter ear).

I decided to work on some Owie Elephants this week. My daughter has already claimed this Harry Potter one, but I’ll have about 70 available in a few days. I’ll post a picture in the comments when they are ready. 😊

Dinosaur jacket season is upon us. I have just a few that are premade, shown here.
$30 each (which is a great price, especially for the romper!), $6 extra if you need it shipped.

I also have a few jackets that are the last of a certain color from a specific brand. It’s hard to list them on Etsy because too many options is confusing, especially when there is only one jacket of that color left. I’ll put the pictures in the comments- happy to give a slight discount to anyone who’d like to custom order one of those jackets/rompers.

I have lots of new jackets in great sizes and colors arriving within the week. 😊

Hey FergsNest followers.
This year has been a doozy. I’ve been on crutches since the beginning of April. I’m hoping to be walking again in a couple weeks.
Very long story short, I was diagnosed with a bone bruise of my left tibia in April and then a few weeks later, it got infected. I had emergency surgery on my left knee to drill out the staph infection that had developed where the bone bruise was. I’ve been non weight bearing on my knee for months so that the bone can grow back and harden. I had two months of IV antibiotics via a permanent line they placed in my chest. It’s been some of the most challenging months of my whole life this summer.

I love sewing and being creative, but the times are changing. JoAnn going out of business was a huge blow to my business (and I’m sure many other small businesses like mine). Social media has changed and posts don’t get seen like they used to. I’m still evaluating a lot, but I know I need less of the inventory that I have. I’ll be posting some of my inventory at really great prices so that it can be out of my house and used!

I’m sorry if I haven’t returned a message. As I’ve mentioned, it’s been a really crummy few months for me. My whole world stopped so abruptly and I closed my life to anything besides myself and my husband and my kids. I’m feeling better now, but still not yet back to normal.

Watch for posts and tag friends who might be interested in snagging some of this clear out inventory. ❤️

Hi FergsNest followers! It’s been a while…

I’m sorry I fell off the wagon. I was getting overwhelmed and I have a really hard time saying no. The balance was way off between my work and my life and it was easier for me to just disappear into something else. I have not been great at responding to messages and inquiries about my sewing work and I’m truly very sorry.

I started to pump the brakes on sewing about two years ago. Since then, I’ve put a lot of my energy into other positive things for me, my family, and my community. I started reading books again. I do pilates now and will start pilates instructor training soon. My kids wanted to start playing hockey, which allowed my husband and I to get back to playing hockey ourselves. I’ve been coaching and teaching and reffing. My kids have been thriving in school and sports but are solidly in their pre-teen/middle school/all the emotions eras. They need me in big ways. Much different from the ways they needed me 10+ years ago when FergsNest started.

I still sew. I’m happy to create and make certain custom orders for the many people who have supported me over the years. But my time is more limited now and some types of orders I used to do (onesie rag quilts and T shirt blankets mostly) are much too much for my life in its current state.

I still have quite a few blankets and other items I’d like to clear out of my pre-made inventory. I’m still making dinosaur jackets year round. Slowing down on creating new Elf on the Shelf items, but still have them. I have some rice filled hot/cold items- Sloths, Chill Pills, and Elephants. I was thinking of making more Owie Elephants for the summer…

So, now that I’ve broken my silence, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need something. I will try to be more active with things I have available and more responsive to messages.

And, I told you what I’ve been up to the past couple years. What have you been doing? Change careers? Start a new hobby? Did your kids grow up too?! 🫣
