Alright, I know politics is a touchy subject, but I feel like there’s a lot of misinformation floating around about Trump and Kamala. Whether you love or hate them, it’s important to base opinions on actual facts, not just what we hear in the media or on social media. So, here’s my take, backed by facts, for anyone who’s interested.
Common Myths about Trump:
1. "Trump wants to ban all abortions, even in emergencies or cases of r**e and in**st."
- This is completely false. Trump supports limiting abortions, especially late-term, but always made exceptions for emergencies like ectopic pregnancies or when the mother’s life is at risk. He also supports exceptions for cases of r**e and in**st. These situations are all protected.
2. "Trump said all Mexicans are rapists."
- This one is way off. Trump was talking about illegal immigration and specifically referred to some criminals crossing the border, like drug dealers and rapists—not all Mexicans.
3. "Trump colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election."
- The Mueller investigation cleared Trump of any collusion with Russia. Russia did interfere in the election, but no conspiracy was found between Trump’s team and the Russians.
4. "Trump called white supremacists ‘very fine people.’"
- This is one of the most misquoted lines ever. Trump did say there were “very fine people” on both sides of the statue debate, but in the same breath, he clearly condemned white supremacists and neo-Nazis.
5. "Trump doesn’t pay taxes."
- Like many wealthy people, Trump took advantage of tax deductions and loopholes that are 100% legal. He has paid taxes, but he used the same tax code everyone else does to lower what he owes. That’s on the tax system, not him.

Why I’m Not Sold on Kamala Harris:
1. Flip-flopping on Major Issues
- Kamala has changed her position a lot—whether it’s healthcare, criminal justice, or immigration. Her stances seem to shift with what’s politically convenient, which makes it tough to know where she actually stands.
2. Big Government, Higher Taxes
- Kamala has supported more government control, including policies like Medicare for All. While she’s adjusted her position since, her push for bigger government means higher taxes and more government involvement in our lives. That’s not a direction I think is good for the economy or for us as individuals.
3. Soft on Law and Order
- At a time when crime is rising, Kamala has supported reducing funding for police and policies like no-cash bail, which could release dangerous offenders back into communities. We need strong leadership on public safety, and I’m not sure she’s delivering that.
4. Her Record on Criminal Justice
- Back when she was Attorney General in California, Kamala was tough on crime, which led to higher incarceration rates, especially among minorities. But now she’s flipped and advocates for criminal justice reform. The inconsistency makes me question her true priorities.
5. Limited Foreign Policy Experience:
- Unlike Trump, who handled direct diplomacy and reshaped foreign relations, Kamala has limited experience in foreign policy. This could be concerning in times of global tension when strong leadership in international relations is essential.
6. Performance as Vice President:
- As Vice President, Harris was tasked with addressing issues like the **border crisis** and voting rights, but her leadership in these areas has been criticized, with little visible progress on finding solutions for these pressing issues.
Final Thoughts:
I get that Trump isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but a lot of the reasons people dislike him just don’t hold up under the facts. Meanwhile, Kamala’s record and policies raise serious concerns for me. She’s not consistent, her policies lean toward big government and higher taxes, and her stance on law and order is shaky at best. Beyond that, her experience in critical areas like foreign policy and her performance as Vice President leave much to be desired.
Look, we all have different opinions, but let’s at least make sure they’re based on facts, not media spins, social media, or what your parents or friend tell you. It’s important to know the truth about both candidates, regardless of who you vote for. I’m all for respectful conversations, so feel free to share your thoughts! 🇺🇸
