Twenty years ago, on August 25, 2006, the Georgetown Times featured this photograph from one of our North Inlet kayak trips through Hobcaw.

For two decades, we partnered with the National Estuarine Research Reserve to lead eight to ten annual trips to North Island and South Hobcaw Beach with naturalists and scientists. I’m grateful to have guided nearly 200 paddles and introduced thousands of people to one of the East Coast’s most spectacular estuarine ecosystems.

I’m thankful for every mile, beach and person who made these experiences so memorable.

Special shout outs to Beth Thomas and Hayley at the North Inlet-Winyah Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, and the rest of the OG at Hobcaw Barony that helped this happen. Richard Hamlin, Paul Kenny, George Chastaine, Wendy Allen, Stowe beam, Jeff Pollack.
