What started my love for wearing and customizing converse/Chuck Taylor’s…and EVERYTHING ELSE?

I started repairing and re-purposing things early in childhood when my aunt Lois used to get me to repair her Knick-knacks or what-nots (I think that’s the term😬)… I would patiently piece together every crumb of those things back together in order to look just like NEW!!! I took such pride in fixing them for her, and I enjoyed every MINUTE of it! Even though I think it was just “busy work”…🥴Lol!

Fast-forward to my early 20s when I had some slides that I wore sooooo often til they were just looking ROUGH and RAGGED!! Lol! Not because I couldn’t afford new ones…but because they were just comfortable…🤷🏽‍♀️

Then about 6-8 years ago, my Bestie, Tiffany, saw what I’d done to some of my slides and asked if I could bedazzle her chucks for her….she showed me a pic of what she wanted for reference, and ME—never turning down a challenge assured her: “Of course I can do that…no problem!!!” (I’ll post a pic if I locate the finished product)
From then on, I fell in love with converse! She gave me my first pair, and now it’s pretty much all I wear (especially since my knee injury a couple years ago😩)
People saw hers and photos that I started posting, annnnd… The rest is history…✨👌🏽
It’s been a while since I’ve been in the “lab”, (because ALL of my tools/supplies were destroyed😞) but I’m jumping back in there!
