Exploring beauty as an idea is an inspiration for most of my designs, whether it is by looking at how the idea of beauty has changed through out history or by seeing it in the shape of art and nature. lso very drawn to color and how it can inspire a certain feeling from a viewer. Emotion is a huge part in my designs as it is something that people experience everyday, and fashion depends on how a person feels when wearing a garment. Fashion design is a form of expression for me, a way for me to communicate and inspire others to see the beauty I see in the world.

Sarah Tremain is a healing journey for how I use fashion and clothing to heal my trauma and the generational trauma I inherited. I do this through making clothing with fabric printed with my mother art, through mending and tailoring clothing, through upcycling and reworking already made clothing. Because this journey is a story we tell through our clothes and it’s supposed to change and grow and reflect back as we walk along it.

Bring your favorite worn-out clothes and learn basic mending and sewing tricks with Sarah Tremain’s hands-on advice.

In preparation for the Crossroads Project Rummage Runway Fashion Show, where I’m also a judge, I’m teaching a basic mending workshop at the center on Saturday, May 16, 2026, 1-3 pm at Crossroads Women’s Center in Germantown.

Join me for a basic tutorial on threading and sewing a straight stitch on a sewing machine, patching or darning your clothing, and hands-on advice on mending the garments brought to the workshop.
