Ok, so this is why our “Stolen Goods” Grafrica Clothing design is popular and resonates with people who honor and not just celebrate Juneteenth.

Turns out that Juneteenth was the ultimate inspiration for this design.

Our designs will always include an educational piece within the art itself.

We figured, if slavery were to exist today in the same context as it did before Juneteenth, we would be “shipped”, traded and sold like any other good in this modern economy. (Where do yall think the term “shipping” originated? Slaves did not arrive by plane.)

The goods we buy today are marked with barcodes. As consumers we all know that.

But do we understand the origins of our capitalist society? Do we even want to know our history in order to understand our worth today?

For those of us who do, we have no problem with wearing our history proudly.

To show others that we know when slavery in America officially began (1499), when its structure changed (1865) and how the change was constitutionally amended (13).

But most of all we know where we originated. Where all the good of mankind was made in the image of our ancestors 🌍.
