When most people think of sewing lessons, they think “beginner.” But many of my private lesson students already know how to sew—they just have a specific goal they want help reaching.

Yesterday’s virtual lesson was with a student who already sews lingerie. Instead of learning bra making basics, she wanted to apply those same techniques to swimwear. Together, we discussed a curriculum that would help her achieve her sewing goals.

Not everyone can travel to Philadelphia for a workshop or retreat, and that’s okay. Private lessons are designed to meet you where you are—whether you want to sew lingerie, bras, corsets, swimwear, or tackle a fitting challenge that’s been holding you back.

I’ve had the privilege of teaching students throughout the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, and beyond.

Both projects feature coordinating custom prints designed exclusively for this collaboration—a soft rayon for Lexee that gives the skirt beautiful movement, and a sturdy canvas for Gwen that gives the bag the structure it needs.

Week 3 post-mastectomy and we’re celebrating the little wins 👏🏻

The drains are officially gone, my bestie made sure I left my appointment with fresh lip gloss, I got to spend time in Maryland, take long walks with Ryan, and even sew a little.

I’m still healing and still have a long road ahead, but for the first time since surgery, life is starting to feel a little more normal. And that’s a pretty great feeling.

Also… one more week until the Madalynne webshop reopens with a new collection and a collaboration I’ve been dying to share 👀

For now, I’ll be over here enjoying drain-free life and pretending lip gloss is a medical necessity 💋 T**s up.

Tissue expanders are one of those things nobody really talks about until you’re suddenly living with them.

Before my surgery, I had no idea they were basically temporary “placeholders” used during breast reconstruction after a mastectomy. They slowly get filled over time to stretch the skin and muscle before a final implant exchange surgery.

And honestly? They’re uncomfortable. Tight. Hard. Weird. Emotional.

I think a lot of people only show the “after” photos — the healed stage, the pretty b***s, the polished transformation. But this in-between stage deserves to be talked about too, because this is part of reconstruction.

There have been moments where I look in the mirror and don’t recognize myself. But I keep reminding myself:
✨ This is temporary.
✨ My body is healing.
✨ Reconstruction is a process, not an overnight transformation.

I’m sharing this because I know there are other women going through this right now who might feel scared, alone, uncomfortable, or frustrated with their bodies. You are not alone. 🤍
