Alane’ Dame brought her lifelong passion to North 2nd Street in Northern Liberties. Hand-picking every single piece, not algorithms, not bulk buys, just one woman’s eye, her instincts, and decades of love for the story clothes can tell.

Dames Vintage Emporium has pieces that range from the 1940s to 2000s. It’s a place where every hanger holds a history, and on Pride Day in Philadelphia CBS 6 came to Northern Liberties, because this neighborhood shows up exactly as it is, full of lgbtq-owned shops, full of people living out their lives. Alane’ said it best: “It’s comforting to be a part of community that gives everyone the strength to be who they are.”

When the heat hits and you still want to look like a you own a vintage emporium.

Alane’ reached for the pieces that remember how to breathe. Cream bermuda shorts, cut raw at the hem, because some stories are better left unfinished. A rainbow stripe knit that carries the optimism of every summer that came before this one. And a washed denim jacket thrown on just long enough to say I dressed with intention.

This is vintage doing what it does best, meeting the moment without trying too hard.

Some things just need a little love to remember what they are.

Alane’ works quietly, hands on a 1950s slip, coaxing it back to the shape it was always meant to hold, no rush just respect for the craft, and for whoever made it the first time.

This is what we do here, not just sell vintage, we restore it and give it a reason to be chosen again.

Somewhere, there’s a person who doesn’t know yet that this slip was waiting for them.
