I live on the coast of South Carolina on Seabrook Island. I’ve always been artistic, pursuing painting when I was younger and photography which I still enjoy. Around ten years ago, I finally found my niche in designing jewelry. My designs were very simple in the beginning, but have developed into more complex and expressive one-of-a-kind pieces. Around eight years ago, I was out shopping and wande
red into a yarn department. I was mesmerized by all the colors and textures before me. My mother was a knitter but I had only been exposed to basic wool yarn. I had no idea what was available in the yarn market. Drawn to those colors and textures, I wanted to make something out of them. My mother had tried to teach me knitting but I wasn’t a successful student. I bought a lot of the yarns anyway and stared at them for days wondering what to do with them. My scarves were born and perfected when I discovered that beautiful and exotic yarns could be found around the world. I’ve been selling my jewelry and scarves in small boutiques for several years – in Chicago and now on Seabrook Island. I have a studio in my home, and numerous friends visit frequently to shop. We have many tourists who visit here from the US and abroad. My scarves have become a top seller in the local boutique with shoppers wanting access to a website as they can’t buy them where they live. I finally took the plunge and Caretta’s Way was created. I am delighted that customers love my designs, and I’m so grateful for this opportunity to express my creativity. I am Caretta’s Way. Every piece of jewelry and all scarves are handmade by me. I shop the world to find the materials for my designs that enable me to create my one-of-a-kind pieces! Caretta’s Way is not only a place to buy products, but a place designed for women, about women, and to honor women and their uniqueness. My designs are one-of-a-kind for one-of-a-kind you. I hope you will enjoy my lively and sometimes educational product descriptions. Please visit the Blog Page and leave comments. I hope you enjoy your time spent here and visit frequently. I look forward to hearing from you! Terry Fansler
