Sent these beauties out to Michigan today! It’s always an honor to create Λαμπάδες ☦️🙏🏼🥰 I am honored and excited when people entrust details of these beautiful sacraments to me. It’s a labor of love and I love making every set unique and custom to the person using them. Wishing the couple (I’ve never met in person but had the pleasure of working with via Etsy), a blessed wedding and Καλά Στέφανα 🙏🏼💛🍋💛

[Dinner style - swipe for more food + chic decor]
Finally had the chance to dine last night.
To start, Pete had a Red Blend & I had the a refreshing, delicious, tequila based cocktail.
We began our meal w/the Burratina which we ate so fast the only photo is of the empty plate (in pic of my drink). It was a perfect take on classic combos. The arugula, Burrata, balsamic, prosciutto, tomato confit (wished there were more of those amazing little flavor bombs 😍), & crispy bread - we call them paksimadia not sure what they are in Italian. But anyway, all the pieces of the dish came together so perfectly that the flavors SANG. We did not leave a crumb!
We shared the Bistecca for2 w/a side of Brussels sprouts. The sprouts had a nice balance of crispy/charred bits (plus the pancetta in there gave them extra flavor).
The steak was Med Rare+a hint of truffle. So tender that the butter knife was up to the job. Pete & I enjoyed every last morsel.
Needless to say, one can’t celebrate birth w/o sweets, so we ordered the cheesecake. It was very well balanced. I like super creamy/cheesy cheesecake and my husband prefers more dense cake-like cheesecakes. This was the most perfect version of right down the middle creamy but firm cheesy but cake-like as it gets. We BOTH loved it! Which is actually rarer than our medium rare steak 🤣 Truly a delightful end to the meal.
The server and food runner added their personal flair and consideration to the meal. We appreciate their efforts to ensure we enjoyed every moment.
Through the entire experience, I could not help but keep looking around to take in the decor. From the gorgeous velvet banquettes, to the incredible tiling behind the bar, to the AMAZING moss wall, the vibe enhanced the delicious meal.
After dinner, the stop at the restroom was also an experience. The tiles, the wallpaper, the snake mirror … it was all so chic. Coincidentally, my nails matched the room. Great minds.

Full disclosure, this type of painting takes many many sessions to get the depth and richness of color. If you are interested in a custom jacket - let’s chat!!! ✨✨✨The New Name Jacket✨✨✨
Remember how I couldn’t fully show you this piece? I finally can!!! 💛🍋
this jacket was very much a work from the heart.
My cousin Stephanie has been with Alex for many years, through many of life’s ups and downs.
They were officially married in May (the date is under the collar for a little surprise if you pop it up). But due to restrictions, their reception happened in October. It was an absolutely beautiful wedding and a wonderful celebration at the official reception. What a warm and beautiful gathering. I had to make sure she received something extra special for this amazing step in her life together with Alex.
The jacket was bleached to make it more “bride-appropriate.” After a few sessions in the bleach it was washed and prepped for the script and pearls.
The script was entirely freehand and took many sessions to get it to the fullness and statement level that was fitting of this Queen.
Once the script and added sparkles were fully dry, I commenced in adding removable pearls to make the jacket extra special. The pearls can be detached for a more casual daily look, but who needs casual when you’re the newlyweds?!? 😍👰🏻‍♀️🤵🏼‍♂️

💛A personal touch - the pearls were from my Yiayia’s collection. (Although not from our Γιαγιά in common, Γιαγιά Vani was everyone’s “bonus Γιαγιά”. She even took me to visit Stephanie and her family for a week when they were still living in Florida. We had such a great time hanging out with them in a smaller setting. I know how much Γιαγιά loves being included in this gift).

If you know me ... you know it’s hard for me not to bring up the fact that I’m GreekAmerican. It is just part of everything I am.
My father was born in a very small village, called Zia. He grew up there on a mountain on the island of Kos. My mother’s mother “Γιαγιά Vani” was also born on Kos, but in the village of Pyli.
My mother’s father was born in Connecticut, where his parents had found one another after a saga of leaving Mytilene.
Remind me to tell you that incredible story someday! It’s wild.
But anyway, I was raised with Greek spoken in my home and Greek dancing started literally from the womb. Fierce pride in both nations as well as high expectations of our elected officials were always the examples set before me.
I remember Γιαγιά writing letters to Senator Sarbanes and making sure he was keeping the issues that effected Greece in mind and voting in our best interests. Any of you who know my mom, know how vocal and active she is on behalf of our democracy.
Today I am just sharing all of this because Greece is called the Founder of Democracy and USA is called the perfect-or. The events that led up to this past Wednesday were a reminder that we must always hold our leaders to a higher standard. Our Democracy is not perfect. It is a living, ever changing government. We must demand transparency, goodness, professionalism, and concern for our fellow man. We cannot sit back and let elected officials do as they please. We must stay informed. Look into the legislation being passed, write to your senators and representatives to tell them what you want from them. Listen to what they voted on and why.
Democracy dies in the dark.
Keep shining your light.
