It’s sad to say but this day has been coming for a lonnnnnng time. I want to say thank you to every single person who has ever supported this weird crazy dream I had to uplift and empower Black womxn, girls and the folks who love us with t-shirts and accessories. I didn’t have a plan, just a feeling. I wanted to do something that made people who looked like me happy, powerful, beautiful and cared for. But runnin a business is hard AF, takes a lot of money that I don’t have, and a lot of emotional and physical labor that I’m no longer capable of doing. So I’m closing BrownGirlParty. Once our last product is sold, the website will be closed. Our mission will live on in all of you who have supported as I know you will keep resisting. For anyone still interested in buying a product, please do so knowing 20% of each sale will he donated to funds like , and . There’s still free shipping for Philly-wide sales but we are unable to offer cheaper shipping outside the city. I have hope that we may have another event one day in the future when the world isn’t ravished by COVID-19 but we won’t discuss that now. While it’s all love, it’s not all sweet! We have to acknowledge that we were completely blindsided by the fact that Chinedu—a known sexual abuser/predator/r*pist in the Black/brown independent art scene here in Philly—lives in the building that Fempire took place in. This was not our intention whatsoever and we cannot express enough how deeply we apologize for anyone who felt triggered or unsafe upon hearing the news. This is a polarizing moment and we want to do our best to hear the community and especially survivors who have come forward. will ALWAYS stand with, believe and listen to Black and Brown womxn!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 F**K RAPISTS AND R**E APOLOGISTS.🔪⚔️💣We will do better and ensure a safer space for future BGP events.
