Good Saturday morning! ☀️

Emails have been sent out to the designers who have signed up for the AZ State Fair Fashion Show. Both Alicia and I have sent emails. PLEASE respond accordingly!

Designers, PLEASE send in bio and info on your garments per email I sent. I have only received 1 bio.

I said we have room for 2 more designers, however, no one else has signed up. So I'm not going to accept any more designers. We're limited to the amount of models we can have. Once again, PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN MODELS. We are using models that have signed up with Alicia.

We have exactly 2 weeks left until the fashion show. Emails are how we communicate. Please check your emails.

Also, we may need a volunteer MC if anyone knows anyone willing to help out 👀

Good Saturday morning! ☀️

What a busy week this has been! From appointments and being the mom taxi to completing 3 orders. I don't even know if I slept. And I had to remind myself to eat. I was so looking forward to today because I knew I didn't have to wake up super early.

Here's the 3 orders I completed this week! The 3 tier skirt was the last order I completed. It is a first for me and omg!! I was covered in the little fabric that comes off the satin. It was a challenge but definitely fun to make!

Today is the day to work on stuff for the fair. I can actually sit down and fully concentrate on the fashion show. I slept in today so coffee first!

Just how a seamstress feet looks all day 😆 I sew without shoes so I just walk around in my socks all day. Picking up my thread after myself without knowing 🤷🏽‍♀️

Why does my machine act up when I'm almost done with an order?! I need to step away and breathe for a bit. 🧘🏽‍♀️

My stitches keep skipping. And it's only on the fabric I'm using. I tried other types to see if it skips also, but it's fine on the other fabrics. I think I'm gonna try a smaller needle and if that doesn't work, it's time to switch out machines. I think the smaller needle will work tho. I hope. 🤞🏽 Not sure how many times I rethreaded my machine. 😒

How do you fix your machine when it starts skipping? Our enquiring minds wanna know. 🤔

Appliqué this evening! Thank you to my husband for making my stencil. There are times when I need to ask him for help with his artistic abilities. Plus I didn't know exactly how this leaf looked. I didn't wanna make a tsööngöö so Imma see how this comes out. Busy day today! 🍃

Something a bit different today. This morning I made breakfast burritos for my husband and son before they headed out for work and practice.

As I was making my dough I thought to myself, "I wouldn't even know how to make thin piikaviikii if my mom Lenny didn't show me and keep correcting me when I made it." Feeling grateful while I finished my dough. I started to roll them out and I thought to myself again, "Every time I pah'vak'rii, I always use my mom's rolling pin she gave to me and it always makes my bread nice and smooth." My mom Emma gave me her rolling pin a long time ago. It still has her last name on there 😊

I don't just have one mom. I was raised by 7. I have my gram and all her girls. And I'm very blessed and beyond grateful for each and every one of them. They have guided me in their own way. They have given me a piece of themselves unselfishly without knowing. They shaped me in a way that makes me who I am today. I carry them all with me in whatever I do. They never leave my side 💕

Finishing up 2 more orders. Like my granddaughter tells me, "Susu, it's time to lock in!" Have a great day everyone!

📣Update on the fashion show at the AZ State Fair! 📣

I spoke with the person running the fashion show and she let me know that due to limited parking and limited passes, THERE WILL ONLY BE 10 DESIGNERS! The sign up sheet is still up and will cut off at 10.

Those who have already signed up and are good to go. Please let me know if you can't make it so I can contact another designer ASAP. And if you don't make the list, just be ready in case someone can't make it.

Nu'kwang'talongva! Good morning everyone! There's no better feeling than waking up knowing you've completed an order!

One order down. She came out so pretty! The colors matched together perfectly. 🥰

The customer supplied the fabric and thread and I made it come together. 🪡

If you supply your own fabric for an order, I will charge you for my time. Depending on the order, I start charging at $90. That's a base charge. It will change depending on clothing and style choice. Just an FYI 😊

🎉 ALMOST AZ STATE FAIR FASHION SHOW TIME!!!! 🎉

Calling all Indigenous seamstresses and seamsters in Arizona!!!! Here is the link to sign up for this year's fashion show at the State Fair. It will be on October 3rd at 3 PM.

The number of outfits will be depending on the amount of participants who sign up. 4 outfits minimum. I will communicate more as we get this together.
