To maintain a shoe you must care for each different materials of the shoe, for example the patent leather must be conditioned to maintain its shine and durability. It is important that you protect your investment. The gum under-sole (bottom) is on of the first noticable results of poor care it often will turn yellow and in some cases brown. this can be avoided by clean often and before storage.
