Dear friends, you may have seen the word on my personal page, Loey Breur Krause, or maybe not. My cancer has returned aggressively, throughout my abdomen and spine, where there was no sign of it 5 months ago when we believed I had beaten stage 2 breast cancer. I suggest you check through and maybe download or somehow save if there is anything here you want to keep. The page will no doubt be going away, or at least archived to something. I have enjoyed tremendously sharing my creative adventures with you all. It's been a fun ride.

A question for all my dog peeps. I mentioned Ziva lost her collar again. This time they have heavy leather collars, which they bite on when playing and roughhousing.

Yesterday Sparky brought me her own collar, evidently proud she had managed to get it off herself. The little Houdini! Ziva had been here with me, so I know she did it all by herself.

I need to find collars that they won't be able to get off, and that are sturdy enough that I can mount the invisible fence receiver on without it shredding.
They have figured out buckles.

I wonder if they might have figured out that the buzz they get when getting near the line comes from the collar, so they learned how to take them off for that reason, and not just that they pull on them when they are playing.

New tools from Missouri Star. I may have to order the scissors. I'm happy with my ergonomic rotary cutter. The seam ripper (aka froggie) is tempting.

In between the kits, I bought at pattern for a gansey afghan that's just stripes of various stitches, and I'm doing it using yarn on hand from other projects. Apparently I always buy WAY too much!
Gansey refers to classic Irish fisherman sweaters, which are traditionally knitted, with stitches like cables and other neat stuff. These patterns translate the stitches into crochet. The pattern calls for all aran, or off white yarn. I'm doing mine changing colors by stripe.
I started this one because I'm finishing the blocks on the other well before the next kit arrives.

I've been crocheting quite a lot recently. I'm working on an Irish Fields Gansey afghan from Annie's Kit Club. I get one kit a month. Each month's part is a square block with 5 sections, each section a different color and a different stitch. Annies supplies the yarn and patterns, plus a video for each block showing how to do all the stitches, walking through every part of the block. The lady who does the video is outstanding, as is the camera work. She speaks clearly, distinctly, and walks through every bit so there is no fog. https://annieskitclubs.com/ Annie's also has kits in other several crafts, including quilting. This is the one I'm doing.
