Thinking about selling custom shirts for a fundraiser? 👕

Here's one piece of advice:

Don't start by guessing how many shirts you'll sell. Whether you're raising money for a sports team, church, school group, or community organization, a little planning can go a long way.

Before ordering, think about:

✅ The design. Is it something supporters will actually want to purchase?

✅ The audience. Who will be buying the shirts?

✅ The quantities. Can you collect interest or preorders before committing to an order?

✅ The budget. Have you considered your apparel costs when setting your fundraising price?

The goal is to raise money for your organization, not end up with boxes of shirts nobody ordered!

Just because a design looks great on your computer doesn't mean every detail will translate perfectly onto apparel.

One of the biggest things to consider when preparing artwork is how the design will actually look on the finished product.

Tiny lettering, extremely thin lines, and intricate details can sometimes get lost, especially when working with embroidery.

Sometimes, simplifying a design can make it cleaner, easier to read, and more recognizable.

The goal isn't to change your brand.

It's to make sure your brand looks its best on the product you've chosen.

We put numbers on here every week. Rig counts, pay, crude, diesel.

Numbers have never once shown anybody what this work actually looks like.

WHAT WE WANT TO SEE

• The shot out your windshield on the way in.

• Ice on the iron, mud past your boot tops, dust you can chew.

• A light plant burning at 3 in the morning.

• Your truck, your rig, your crew, the dog riding sh***un.

Phone shots are fine.

Drilling, workover, frac, wireline, coil, snubbing, hot oil, vac, water haul, roustabout, pumper, hotshot, mechanic, dispatch. Every seat counts, and half of them never get shown.

BEFORE YOU SEND ONE

• Check your company's camera policy first. Some yards are fine with it and some will run you off for it, and this page is not worth your job.

• Nothing with an incident in it. No wrecks, nobody's worst day.

• Nothing that shows somebody working unsafe. We won't run it, and you don't want it on the internet either.

• If you're standing there not sure whether you should take the picture, don't.

HOW THE HAT WORKS

• Drop it below or send it to the page in a message, with your basin and your seat.

• Every Sunday we pick the best one that came in that week.

• It runs on the page with your name and basin on it, and we ship you a Dirty Hands hat.

• Rather it run without your name, say so...you still get the hat.

• Posting or sending one means you're good with us running it here, on the site or in a reel. We may edit your photo when we run it, and company names, unit numbers and location signs get blurred or cropped out before anything goes up.

• Free to enter, 18 and up, 1 hat a week.

• We'll message the winner for a shipping address and nothing else. Anybody asking for money or a card number isn't us.
