I'm so excited! Just in the last 5 days, I've had 4 new clients find me through Facebook. I dunno if my friends are referring me or what, but I'm so grateful! More than anything, I want to be able to have a business that pays the bills, so to speak. This seems to be a good start! Thanks for the support!

Since my wedding Is getting closer, I decided to start shopping for wedding veils. Oh my gosh!!! They are ridiculously expensive!! $349.95 for a long piece of tulle tied to a hair comb and decorated with a few cheap beads & lace! No way, no how! I'm not doing that! So, I decided to make my own. So far, I'm loving it! It's more beautiful than the 350 dollar one I had chosen! And much cheaper! I'll get it finished tonight and post a couple pics. I'm thinking I may start selling them! There HAS to be a market for them because... Who wants to spend hundreds of dollars on a couple yards of tulle & lace!?! 😊

This was another of my daughter's dresses for a high school dance... I believe it was Homecoming, Senior Year. It was ordered online and was way too big on her so I had to take in the shoulder straps and reshape the armholes so it would fit correctly around the bust. I also took in the side seams which, as you can tell, was more like shortening about 8 straps and then creating small darts in the skirt so it would blend nicely into the waistline. Looking back, this dress was a lot more involved than I realized, but I guess it was worth it to see that beautiful smile... Even if I still think she had too much skin showing, lol!

My daughter, Celeste Leighann Blackshere, borrowed this gown from her Aunt for her first high school dance, but it was a couple sizes too small. Thankfully, the dress had been made with a large seam allowance so we were able to let it out and give her the couple of inches she needed in order to fit into it. She looked beautiful as always!

This was my daughter's dress for her Senior Prom. It was stunning... But far too big on her! I shortened the straps in the back and took the sides in a tiny bit and was able to save Prom! Poor baby had ordered it online, I believe. For whatever reason, I only had one day to work on it so I can remember sewing the last strap as her friends were starting to show up at the house! I'm sure she stole the show at her Prom... Isn't she breathtaking? Stunning? Beautiful? Proud, doting mom? Who? Me?

When I make costumes, I usually start with a couple pictures and build the costume from the bottom up. This one turned out to be a lot of fun. My mom helps me when I work on the costumes because they tend to be a lot of work... But still fun! We always have so much fun sewing together. Thank you , Mommy (Sharon Logan) for helping me stay sane when I have a costume deadline! And thank you Kathryn Miller for the opportunity to make such a cool piece! I enjoyed it, and it looked amazing on you!

Here's another picture of the costume I made for Chase Ward. It looked even better with full makeup and green hair! This costume took some time, and it tried my patience more than once, but it was well worth it with how great it turned out.
